Initially started lifting weights to physically get better at basketball - turned out to be a better lifter than basketball player, so have been a (kind of accidental) Powerlifter since.

 

Being a Powerlifter offered me a chance to invest in strength and fitness. This eventually led me to Strength Culture, a place where you’ll be doing not only one, but a number of strength sports (e.g. Strongman and Olympic Weightlifting), and I’ve been dabbling in other sports since then.

 

Moral of the story; lifting heavy and being strong is for everyone! Give it a go, even it it’s by accident.
